If you are traveling by car, head west on NE-91 from the center of Sandhills. Continue on NE-91 until you reach the junction with US-83. Turn left onto US-83 South and continue for about 30 miles. Take the exit toward NE-12 East and follow NE-12 for approximately 14 miles. Once you reach Valentine, turn right onto Pony Lake Road. The Valentine National Wildlife Refuge will be on your left after approximately 5 miles. The entire drive should take around 1 hour.
