Walking
Start at Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a central location in Bhaktapur. Head east out of the square toward the main road, which is known as Bhaktapur-Kathmandu Road. Walk straight along this road for about 15 minutes. You will pass several small shops and local eateries. Keep an eye on the road signs that lead you toward Swayambhu. After walking for about 1.2 kilometers, you will see a sign pointing to Swoyambhu Mahachaitya. Follow this sign, which will lead you onto a smaller path that climbs uphill. It will take around 10 minutes to walk up, and you will notice the magnificent views of the Kathmandu Valley as you ascend. Continue along the path, and you will arrive at the Swoyambhu Mahachaitya, also known as the Monkey Temple. Be cautious of the monkeys around the area!

Public Transport
From Bhaktapur Durbar Square, walk to the nearest bus station located at the entrance of the square. Take a local bus heading to Kathmandu and ask the driver to drop you off at Swayambhu. The bus journey will take approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Swayambhu, you will need to walk a short distance uphill to reach Swoyambhu Mahachaitya. There will be signs directing you toward the temple. The walk from the bus stop to the temple will take around 10 minutes.
