Car

If you're traveling by car, start from Kathmandu and take the Arniko Highway (also known as the Kathmandu-Bhaktapur road). Drive for about 12 kilometers (approximately 30 minutes) until you reach Bhaktapur. Once you arrive in Bhaktapur, follow the signs toward 'Durbar Square'. There are several parking areas available near the square, but please note that parking may incur a fee, usually around 100 NPR (Nepalese Rupees) for a few hours. After parking, it's a short walk to Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

Public Bus

To reach Bhaktapur Durbar Square via public transportation, head to the 'Kantipath' bus station in Kathmandu, where you can find buses heading to Bhaktapur. The cost for a one-way ticket is about 50 NPR. Buses run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes around 1 hour depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Bhaktapur, disembark at the main bus station. From there, it is a 15-minute walk to Durbar Square. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions.

Microbus

Another option is to take a microbus from Kathmandu to Bhaktapur. These microbuses can be found at various locations in the city, including 'Bagbazar' and 'New Road'. The fare is around 60 NPR, and the journey takes about 1 hour. After arriving in Bhaktapur, get off at the main bus stop and walk towards Durbar Square, which is about a 15-minute walk. Taxi
