Car
If you are starting from Kathmandu, you can rent a car or hire a taxi to drive to Jiri or Salleri, the two primary points from where you can begin the trek to Everest Base Camp. The drive takes approximately 7-8 hours. After reaching Jiri or Salleri, you will need to start your trek towards Namche Bazaar. Ensure your driver is familiar with the mountain roads. Parking may be limited, so confirm arrangements in advance.
Public Transportation
From Kathmandu, you can take a bus to Jiri or Salleri. Buses leave from the Ratna Park bus station. The journey takes about 8-10 hours. Once you arrive at Jiri or Salleri, you will need to start trekking. From Jiri, it is about a 5-day trek to Namche Bazaar, while from Salleri, it is slightly shorter. Prepare for both routes by packing supplies and proper trekking gear.
Trekking
Upon reaching Jiri or Salleri, follow the trekking paths to Namche Bazaar. The trek from Jiri involves crossing various villages and scenic landscapes.
