Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Pokhara, head east on the Prithvi Highway (H01) towards the city center. Once you reach the city center, follow the signs to Pumdikot. After approximately 4 km, take a left turn onto the Unnamed Road. Continue on this road for about 2 km and you will reach the Egret Breeding Ground (6X54+59X, Unnamed Road, Pokhara 33700). Ensure to have a GPS device or map application as the area may not be well marked.

• Public Transportation

  From Pokhara, take a local bus or a microbus heading towards Pumdikot. The bus will drop you off near the city center. From there, you can either take a taxi or a local tuk-tuk to the Unnamed Road. Inform the driver that you are going to the Egret Breeding Ground. The taxi ride will take approximately 15 minutes and should cost around NPR 300-500 depending on your negotiation skills.

• Walking

  If you're already in the vicinity of the Unnamed Road, you can walk to the Egret Breeding Ground. From the nearest bus stop, head south on the Unnamed Road. The breeding ground is about a 20-minute walk from the stop. Look for signs of bamboo plants, as they are abundant in this area and home to hundreds of Egret nests.

• Bicycle Rental

  For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bicycle in Pokhara. Once you have your bike, follow the same route to Pumdikot. You can cycle along the Prithvi Highway and then take the Unnamed Road. The cycling distance is approximately 6 km and will take around 30-40 minutes. Bicycle rentals typically cost around NPR 300-500 per day.
