Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Pokhara, which is about 100 km away from Gaindakot. Head east on the Prithvi Highway (H01) towards Narayanghat. After approximately 60 km, you will reach Narayanghat. From Narayanghat, take the road towards Gaindakot. Continue for around 30 km until you reach Gaindakot. Once in Gaindakot, follow the signs for Kalika Mandir Trail. The temple is located at PCH5+2F5, Kalika Mandir Trail, Gaindakot 33000.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Maula Kalika via public transportation, you can take a bus from Pokhara to Narayanghat. Buses frequently depart from the Pokhara bus station and the journey takes about 3 hours, costing around NPR 300-500. Once in Narayanghat, you will need to board a local bus or microbus heading towards Gaindakot. This leg of the journey will take approximately 1 hour and will cost an additional NPR 100-200. Upon arrival in Gaindakot, ask locals for directions to Kalika Mandir Trail, which is well-known in the area.
Local Transport (Taxi or Rickshaw)
Once you arrive in Gaindakot, you can take a taxi or rickshaw to Kalika Mandir Trail. The distance from the main bus stop to the temple is about 5 km. A taxi ride will cost around NPR 300-500, while a rickshaw may cost approximately NPR 200-400. Ensure to negotiate the price before starting your ride.
Walking
If you enjoy walking and it's not too hot, you can also choose to walk from the bus stop in Gaindakot to the temple. The walk is about 1 hour and will take you through local neighborhoods, providing a glimpse of everyday life in the region.
