The Mardi Himal Trek was one of the most beautiful trekking experiences I've had. The trail passes through dense rhododendron forests, charming villages, and gradually opens up to breathtaking alpine landscapes. As you gain altitude, the views become more and more spectacular. The highlight was reaching Mardi Himal Viewpoint and witnessing the stunning panorama of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Watching the sunrise over the mountains was an unforgettable experience. The trek is well-balanced—not overly crowded like some of Nepal's more famous routes, yet well-supported with comfortable teahouses along the way. The locals were warm and welcoming, and the peaceful atmosphere made the journey even more enjoyable. The trek is moderately challenging, making it suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. Every climb is rewarded with incredible scenery, fresh mountain air, and a real sense of accomplishment. Overall, I highly recommend the Mardi Himal Trek to anyone looking for a shorter Himalayan adventure with world-class mountain views. It exceeded my expectations and is definitely a trek I would love to do again.

Mardi Himal Trek - Annapurna

Poon Hill / Mardi Himal - really good experience!

Bimal was really helpful, responsive and friendly in supporting to arrange the trip and come up with a modified itinerary that suited us. We did Poon Hill and Mardi Himal, via the hot springs (recommend!), over about 6 days. Our guide Tis was really pleasant company and friendly, despite some language barriers. April was a wonderful time to see all the rhododendrons and luckily, after some rain, the pollution cleared after a few days. We had clear skies for Mardi Himal sunrise, which was amazing! Overall, if you are looking for a guiding company, we would really recommend Happyland Treks. They are very invested in you having a good and smooth trip, and I think are good value for money - similar price to the many other providers out there. Nepalese owned also, which we liked. We did the 4-day Mardi Base Camp trek starting from Pokhara, and it was the perfect short Himalayan adventure! The views of Machapuchare and the Annapurna range were absolutely breathtaking. The trail was peaceful, with fewer crowds than other treks. Our guide, Biru, was exceptional — knowledgeable, funny, and incredibly caring. He knew every corner of the trail and shared local stories and mountain insights that made the journey special. He made sure we were safe and well-fed, and helped us pace ourselves perfectly. Highly recommend this trek if you want a short but rewarding trek with jaw-dropping scenery — and ask for Biru if you can. He's the best!
