From Kathmandu, head southwest towards Kirtipur. You can start from the central area of Kathmandu, such as Thamel or Basantapur. Follow the Ring Road (also known as the Kathmandu Ring Road) in the direction of Dhulikhel. Continue straight until you reach the Chobhar area. Look for signs directing you towards Chovar or Kirtipur. As you approach Kirtipur, you will see a sign for the Chovar sunset viewpoint. Turn left onto the road leading to the viewpoint. The drive typically takes around 30 minutes depending on traffic.
