Getting There

• Car

  From the central area of Kathmandu, head southwest towards Kirtipur. You can start on Ring Road, which encircles the city. Follow signs for Kirtipur and continue on the road until you reach the entrance of Kirtipur town. Once in Kirtipur, follow the main road until you see signs for Champadevi. You'll need to drive up the winding roads; parking is usually available near the base of the hiking trail.

• Public Transportation (Microbus)

  Take a microbus from New Bus Park in Kathmandu that goes to Kirtipur. Microbuses are frequent and typically cost around NPR 30-50 (approximately $0.25 - $0.40). Once you arrive in Kirtipur, ask locals for directions to Champadevi; it's a well-known destination. You may need to walk a short distance to reach the trailhead.

• Walking

  If you are already in Kirtipur, you can walk to Champadevi. From the main square in Kirtipur, head southwest towards the hills. Follow the signs for Champadevi Temple, which is a popular landmark. The hike will take about 1-2 hours, depending on your pace, and the trail is well-marked.

• Taxi

  For a more comfortable option, you can hire a taxi from anywhere in Kathmandu to take you directly to Champadevi. This will cost approximately NPR 800-1200 (about $6-$10) depending on your starting point. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
