Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town in Koshi Zone, such as Biratnagar or Dharan. From Biratnagar, take the Mahendra Highway (H06) heading east. Continue on this road for about 30 kilometers until you reach the Koshi Barrage. Follow the signs to the Koshi River. There is a parking area near the barrage where you can leave your vehicle.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a local bus from Biratnagar or Dharan heading towards Biratnagar Bus Park. From there, catch a bus or a microbus that goes directly to the Koshi Barrage. The journey will take approximately 1-2 hours, depending on your starting point and traffic conditions. Make sure to ask the conductor to drop you off at the Koshi Barrage stop. From there, it's a short walk to the riverbank.
Cycle Rickshaw
Once you arrive at the Koshi Barrage, if you prefer a more leisurely pace, you can hire a cycle rickshaw to take you to the riverbank. The fare should be negotiated upfront, but expect to pay around NPR 200-300 for a short ride to the river area. This is a great way to enjoy the scenery while making your way to the Koshi River.
Walking
If you're already at the Koshi Barrage, walking down to the riverbank is quite simple. There are well-trodden paths leading towards the river, and it will take you approximately 10-15 minutes to reach the water's edge. Enjoy the lush greenery and the sound of flowing water as you make your way there.
