Walking
Start from the Lumbini Garden, where you can explore the sacred sites. Exit the garden and head towards the main road (Lumbini to Siddharthanagar Road). Walk along this road for approximately 2 kilometers in the direction of Siddharthanagar. You will pass by local shops and eateries along the way, making it a pleasant walk. Keep an eye out for local signage to ensure you're heading in the right direction.
Bus
Once you reach the main road, you can take a local bus heading towards Siddharthanagar. Buses are frequent and cost-effective. Inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at Siddharthanagar. After about 15-20 minutes, you will arrive at Siddharthanagar bus station. From here, you can either walk or take a rickshaw to your next destination.
Rickshaw
At the Siddharthanagar bus station, look for a rickshaw. You can negotiate the fare; it should be around 200-300 NPR to get to the base of Kahunkot. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. The driver will take you towards Kahunkot, following the main road and then onto smaller paths as you get closer to the viewpoint.
Hiking
Once you arrive at the base of Kahunkot, you will need to hike up to the viewpoint. Look for the marked trail that leads up the hill. The hike is moderate and takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace. Along the way, enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes.
