Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main entrance of the Lumbini Garden, walk straight along the main path towards the Maya Devi Temple. Once you reach the temple, continue along the path that leads you to the Sacred Pond. After visiting the pond, follow the signs towards the Northern Monastic Zone. As you walk through the monastic zone, keep an eye out for local signs pointing towards Kapilvastu. After about 30 minutes of walking, you will reach the road. Turn left onto the road and continue for approximately 1 kilometer until you see a sign for Sagrahawa. Follow the sign, and you will reach Sagrahawa, which is located just off the main road.

  • Bicycle

    You can rent a bicycle from one of the shops near the Lumbini Garden entrance. Once you have your bicycle, head towards the Maya Devi Temple. After visiting the temple, continue north through the Northern Monastic Zone. After about 20 minutes of cycling, you will come to the main road. Turn left and cycle along this road for about 1 kilometer. Look for the sign indicating Sagrahawa, then take the turn off the road and follow the path to the site.

  • Local Transport (Rickshaw)

    You can hire a local rickshaw from the Lumbini Garden area. Tell the driver that you want to go to Sagrahawa. The rickshaw will take you along the main road towards Kapilvastu. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at the main road near Kapilvastu, you will need to walk a short distance to find the entrance to Sagrahawa. Make sure to confirm with the driver to drop you off at the sign for Sagrahawa.
