Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the main city in Mahakali Zone, Darchula. Drive south on the Mahakali Road (also known as the Darchula-Mahendranagar Road) for approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you reach the border town of Mahendranagar, continue on the road, and you will eventually arrive at a junction. Take the left turn towards Champawat, Uttarakhand, India. Follow this road for about 30 minutes until you reach the sign for Henry Waterfall. There is a parking area available near the waterfall entrance. Note that you may need to pay a small parking fee, usually around NPR 100-200.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Darchula to Mahendranagar. Buses leave frequently throughout the day and the journey will take about 2-3 hours. Once you arrive in Mahendranagar, look for local buses or shared taxis heading towards Champawat. Inform the driver that you wish to visit Henry Waterfall. This leg of the journey should take around 30 minutes. The fare for the bus from Darchula to Mahendranagar is typically around NPR 200, while the shared taxi to Champawat may cost you NPR 300-500. After arriving at the waterfall, you can either walk a short distance to the entrance or hire a local guide for assistance.

  Once you have parked your car or arrived by public transportation, you will need to walk a short trail to reach Henry Waterfall. The trail is well-marked and takes about 10-15 minutes to walk. Along the way, you can enjoy the lush greenery and local flora. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path can be slightly uneven in some areas.
