Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from Mahakali Zone, you can take the Mahakali Highway heading towards the capital, Kathmandu. Follow the highway until you reach the Ring Road of Kathmandu. Take a right onto the Ring Road and continue straight until you see the signs for Basantapur. Exit the Ring Road and follow the road signs towards Kathmandu Durbar Square. There are limited parking facilities nearby, so be prepared to find parking in the surrounding areas and walk a short distance to the square.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach Kathmandu Durbar Square via public transportation, locate a local bus terminal in Mahakali Zone. Take a bus heading towards Kathmandu. The fare typically ranges from NPR 100 to NPR 300 depending on the bus type. Once you arrive at the Ratna Park or New Bus Park in Kathmandu, you can either walk or take a taxi to Basantapur, which is approximately a 15-20 minute walk or a short taxi ride.
