Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, Arughat. Drive towards Soti Khola, which is approximately 6-7 hours away. From Soti Khola, continue your journey towards Machha Khola, which takes about 2 hours. Once you reach Machha Khola, you will need to park your vehicle as the road becomes a trekking path. From Machha Khola, trek to the village of Jagat, which will take around 3-4 hours. After Jagat, follow the trail towards Samanagaun, which is another 5-6 hours of trekking. Mahendra Taal is located just outside of Samagaun, a small village, so you can easily walk there from the village.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Kathmandu to Arughat. The bus ride can take around 8-10 hours. From Arughat, you can find local jeep services that will take you to Soti Khola. The jeep ride typically lasts about 1 hour. After that, follow the same trekking route as mentioned above: trek to Machha Khola, then to Jagat, and finally to Samagaun.
