If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, Arughat. Drive towards Soti Khola, which is approximately 6-7 hours away. From Soti Khola, continue your journey towards Machha Khola, which takes about 2 hours. Once you reach Machha Khola, you will need to park your vehicle as the road becomes a trekking path. From Machha Khola, trek to the village of Jagat, which will take around 3-4 hours. After Jagat, follow the trail towards Samanagaun, which is another 5-6 hours of trekking. Mahendra Taal is located just outside of Samagaun, a small village, so you can easily walk there from the village.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Kathmandu to Arughat. The bus ride can take around 8-10 hours. From Arughat, you can find local jeep services that will take you to Soti Khola. The jeep ride typically lasts about 1 hour. After that, follow the same trekking route as mentioned above: trek to Machha Khola, then to Jagat, and finally to Samagaun. Make sure to check the local schedules for buses and jeeps as they may vary, and be prepared for potential delays.
