Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the nearest major town, Bhadrapur. Drive towards the East to reach the Jhapa district. Continue on the Mechi Highway (also known as the Bhadrapur-Ilampu Highway) towards Kakarbhitta. Once you reach Kakarbhitta, take a left turn towards Damak. After Damak, follow the road signs to Mechinagar and then to Jaubari. The last stretch will require you to drive on a gravel road, which can be bumpy. Ensure your vehicle has good ground clearance for this part. The coordinates for the Sunrise Viewpoint are approximately 27.0298° N, 88.0325° E. Parking is available near the viewpoint.

Public Transportation

For those opting for public transportation, start at Bhadrapur and take a local bus or microbus heading towards Kakarbhitta. The fare is generally around NPR 50-100. Once in Kakarbhitta, look for a bus or shared jeep going to Damak. After reaching Damak, you will need to catch another local bus or jeep heading towards Jaubari. The total fare for the journey from Kakarbhitta to Jaubari should be around NPR 150-200. Note that the last leg of the journey might still require some walking, as public transport may not reach the exact viewpoint.

Hiking

If you are feeling adventurous and enjoy hiking, you can trek from Jaubari village to the Sunrise Viewpoint. After reaching Jaubari by any means of transportation, follow the local trails leading towards the viewpoint. The hike is approximately 2 kilometers and takes about 30-45 minutes.
