If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Mechi Zone. Head towards Ilam District, taking the Mechi Highway (also known as the Eastern Highway). Follow the road signs towards Ilam. After reaching Ilam, continue towards Fikkal and then take the road to Tumling. The drive may take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic conditions. Once in Tumling, park your vehicle at a designated area and prepare for a short trek to reach Tonglu, which is about a 30-minute hike uphill.

For those opting for public transportation, take a local bus from your location in Mechi Zone to Ilam. Buses are frequent and the fare is typically around NPR 200-300. Once in Ilam, catch a minibus or jeep to Fikkal (fare: NPR 100-150). After reaching Fikkal, you will need to hire a local jeep or take a shared taxi to Tumling (fare: NPR 300-400). Upon arrival in Tumling, you can either walk to Tonglu, which is a 30-minute uphill trek, or inquire about local porter services to assist with your luggage.
