From Dhangadhi, take the East-West Highway (also known as the Mahendra Highway) westward for about 90 kilometers. Look for the signposts for the town of Silgadi. Continue driving until you reach Silgadi. From Silgadi, you will need to switch to a local road leading to the Khaptad National Park entrance. The last leg of the journey involves a steep ascent, so ensure your vehicle can handle the terrain. The journey may take around 4-5 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.

From Dhangadhi, take a local bus to Silgadi, which is the nearest town to Khaptad. Buses from Dhangadhi to Silgadi typically run every hour. Once you arrive in Silgadi, you will need to hire a local jeep or taxi for the final leg to the park entrance, as public transport does not go directly into the park.
