Getting There

Walking
From the center of Nagarkot, head towards the main road leading down the hill. Follow the road downhill for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the junction at the bottom of the hill. At the junction, turn left onto the road that leads to Bhaktapur. Continue on this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you arrive at the intersection with a sign directing you towards Mahalaxmi. Follow this sign and continue straight for another 10 minutes. You will pass by local shops and houses. Keep an eye out for the Mahalaxmi sign on your right side. The Kathmandu Valley area is just ahead.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Nagarkot. Start by cycling down the main hill road towards Bhaktapur. After about 2 kilometers, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left path, which leads to Mahalaxmi. Keep pedaling straight for another 1 kilometer until you see the Mahalaxmi sign. The journey should take around 20 minutes, depending on your speed. Be cautious of local traffic and pedestrians.

Hiking
For a more adventurous route, start from the Nagarkot viewpoint. Take the trail that leads down through the forest. Follow the signs directing you towards Bhaktapur. This trail is a bit rugged and may take approximately 1.5 hours to hike down. Once you reach the bottom, you will come out onto the main road. Turn left and walk for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the Mahalaxmi sign. This route offers beautiful views but be prepared with proper hiking shoes.
