Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Nagarkot, head south towards the main road. Walk down to the junction where you can see the path leading towards Bhaktapur. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Bhaktapur. Once you arrive in Bhaktapur, ask locals for directions to Thamel, Kathmandu. It's a popular tourist area, so they will guide you towards the bus station. Take a local bus or a micro-bus from Bhaktapur to Kathmandu. The bus ride will take approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Once you reach Kathmandu, you will need to head to Thamel, which is known for its tourist-friendly atmosphere. You can either walk or take a short taxi ride to Amrit Marg where Nepal Trekking Experts Pvt. Ltd. is located.

• Local Bus

  Start at the Nagarkot bus stand and take a local bus heading towards Kathmandu. Make sure to inform the bus conductor that you want to go to Thamel. The bus will drop you off near the Ratna Park area in Kathmandu. From there, you can either take a taxi or continue walking. If walking, head towards the Thamel area. Look for the main street lined with shops and restaurants. Amrit Marg is a small street in Thamel, and you can ask locals for specific directions or simply follow the signs to Thamel. It’s a short walk, taking about 15-20 minutes once you are in the Thamel area.

• Trekking

  If you prefer trekking, begin your journey at the viewpoint near Nagarkot. Follow the marked trails leading down the hill towards the village of Changu Narayan. From Changu Narayan, you can catch a local bus to Bhaktapur. Once in Bhaktapur, find the bus station and take a bus to Kathmandu, specifically to the Thamel area. The trek from Nagarkot to Changu Narayan will take about 2-3 hours, offering beautiful views along the way, and then you can proceed to Bhaktapur and onward to Kathmandu as described above.
