Walking
From the center of Nagarkot, head southwest on the main road towards Bhaktapur. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach a junction. Take the left turn towards Bhaktapur. Continue walking for about 7 kilometers until you reach the bus stop in Bhaktapur. Here, you can catch a local bus heading towards Kathmandu. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, ask for directions to Pashupati Nath Road, which is a well-known area. The Pashupatinath Temple is located on Pashupati Nath Road and is easily accessible from the bus stop.
Hiking
For the adventurous traveler, you can hike from Nagarkot to Kathmandu. Start your hike by following the trail that leads down from Nagarkot, which will take you through local villages and beautiful landscapes. After about 10 kilometers of hiking, you will reach the main road leading into Kathmandu. Follow the road until you reach Pashupati Nath Road. This hike can take around 3-4 hours depending on your pace, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry enough water.
Public Transit
If you prefer to use public transportation, walk to the nearest bus station in Nagarkot. Buses frequently travel from Nagarkot to Kathmandu. Once you board a bus, inform the driver that you want to go to Pashupati Nath Temple, and they will drop you off at the nearest stop. From there, you can walk to Pashupati Nath Road. The entire journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours including waiting times.
