Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main bus station in Nagarkot, head down the road towards the entrance of the village. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the junction. Take a left turn and walk for another 1 kilometer. You will pass by several local shops and cafes. Continue walking straight until you reach the main road. Once you are on the main road, look for a sign that says 'Patan' and continue walking for approximately 3 kilometers. After about 20 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the bus stop for Patan. Take a local bus to Lalitpur, which will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Lalitpur, ask locals for directions to Patan Darbar Square, which is a short walk from the bus stop.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Nagarkot. Start by cycling down the main road towards Bhaktapur. After about 2 kilometers, take a right turn onto the road leading to Patan. Keep cycling for another 5 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of Lalitpur. Follow the signs to Patan Darbar Square. The entire journey will take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your cycling speed. Park your bicycle at one of the designated parking areas near Patan Darbar Square.

  • Trekking

    For the adventurous, a trekking route leads from Nagarkot to Patan. Start your trek from the viewpoint in Nagarkot. Follow the trail that leads downhill towards the village of Changu. After about 2 hours of trekking, you will reach the village. From Changu, continue along the path that leads to Bhaktapur. Once you reach the Bhaktapur bus station, catch a local bus heading to Lalitpur. The entire trek followed by the bus ride will take approximately 4-5 hours. Once in Lalitpur, Patan Darbar Square is just a short walk away.
