Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards Pokhara, which is approximately 200 km from Kathmandu. From Pokhara, take the Prithvi Highway and follow signs to Nayapul. Once in Nayapul, you can park your vehicle in a designated area. From Nayapul, take a local jeep or taxi to Ghandruk, which is a popular starting point for the Mohare to Poonhill Trail. The jeep ride will take about 1-2 hours and may cost around NPR 2000-3000. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand.

Public Transportation

For those opting for public transportation, take a tourist bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara. This journey takes about 6-8 hours and costs around NPR 1000-1500. Upon reaching Pokhara, you can take a local bus or a shared taxi to Nayapul. Buses leave frequently from the Lakeside area of Pokhara. The bus ride to Nayapul will take approximately 1-1.5 hours and costs around NPR 200-300. From Nayapul, hire a jeep or taxi to Ghandruk as mentioned previously.

Trekking

Once you reach Ghandruk, you can start your trek towards Mohare Danda. The trek is well-marked and takes roughly 6-8 hours depending on your pace. There are guesthouses in Mohare Danda where you can rest and enjoy local cuisine.

Trekking from Mohare to Poonhill
