Getting there

Car

From there, you will need to drive towards the trailhead that leads to the Everest Base Camp Trail. The closest major town is Taplejung. From Taplejung, it is advisable to hire a local guide or porter who can help you navigate the trails. The drive from Taplejung to the trailhead takes about 1-2 hours, depending on road conditions.

Public Transportation

To reach Kanchenjunga Base Camp via public transportation, take a local bus from Biratnagar or Kathmandu to Taplejung. This bus journey can take 12-14 hours, so be prepared for a long ride. Once you arrive in Taplejung, you can either find a local jeep or hire a guide who can take you to the trailhead leading to Everest View Point. The jeep ride to the trailhead takes approximately 1-2 hours. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance and purchase your tickets early, as they can fill up quickly.

Hiking

Once you reach the trailhead, start your hike towards Everest View Point. Follow the well-marked trails; the hike will take approximately 3-4 hours depending on your pace.
