Car
If you are traveling by car, start from your location in Seti Zone and head towards Bhaktapur. Use the main highways leading towards Bhaktapur: take the Prithvi Highway (also known as the East-West Highway) towards Kathmandu. Follow the signs for Bhaktapur, which is approximately 15 km from Kathmandu. Once you enter Bhaktapur, head towards the central area, where you'll find signs for Durbar Square. There is limited parking available near the entrance, so be prepared for a short walk to the square. Note that parking fees may apply.
Public Transportation - Bus
For public transportation, you can take a local bus from various locations within Seti Zone to Bhaktapur. Look for buses heading towards Kathmandu, and inform the driver or conductor that you want to disembark at Bhaktapur. The bus will drop you off at the main bus park in Bhaktapur. From the bus park, it is a short walk (about 15 minutes) to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Follow the signs, or ask locals for directions if you get lost. The bus fare is typically around NPR 50-100 depending on your starting point.
Taxi or Ride-Sharing
If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi or using a ride-sharing service. Simply request a ride to 'Durbar Square, Bhaktapur' using your chosen app or give the driver the address: Durbar Square, Bhaktapur 44800. The journey will take around 30 minutes from Kathmandu, depending on traffic, and should cost between NPR 800-1500. Ensure you agree on a fare before starting your journey if you are not using a ride-sharing app.
Walking from Bhaktapur Bus Park
Once you arrive at the Bhaktapur Bus Park, exit the bus terminal and head towards the main road. Follow the road signs that point to Durbar Square.
