Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Jomsom, the main gateway to Upper Mustang. Drive south on the F042 road for approximately 20 minutes (about 10 kilometers) until you reach the point marked PMQM+843. This is the location for Chhairo Gompa. There is limited parking available nearby, so be sure to park safely and follow the footpath to the gompa.
Public Transportation - Jeep
From Jomsom, you can take a local jeep or shared transportation heading towards Kagbeni or further south. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Chhairo Gompa. The journey should take around 20-30 minutes depending on the road conditions. Be sure to ask the driver to drop you off as close as possible to the gompa, and check in advance if they are familiar with the location.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity, you can walk to Chhairo Gompa. From Jomsom, head south along the F042 road and take a left at the PMQM+843 marker. The footpath will lead you directly to the gompa. It's about a 30-minute walk, and you’ll enjoy beautiful views along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
