Walking
If you are starting from Amersfoort's central train station, exit the station and head towards the main street, Stationsstraat. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Stadsring. Cross the street to Stadsring and follow it as it curves to the left. Continue walking on Stadsring for about 500 meters until you see the signs for 'Oude Stad'. Turn right onto Langestraat, which will lead you into the historic city center. Keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with Muurhuizen, then turn left. Continue straight until you reach the Monnikendam Gate, which will be on your right.

Public Transport - Bus
From Amersfoort central station, take bus line 1 or 2 towards 'Vathorst' or 'Kruiskamp'. Get off at the 'Korte Bergstraat' bus stop. From there, walk straight down Korte Bergstraat, which will lead you to the center of the historic area. Continue onto Langestraat, then turn left onto Muurhuizen. The Monnikendam Gate will be on your right side after a short walk.

Walking from the City Center
If you are already in the city center near the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Tower, head towards the Varkensmarkt square. From Varkensmarkt, take the street named 'Breestraat' and continue straight until you reach Muurhuizen. Turn right on Muurhuizen and keep walking until you see the Monnikendam Gate on your left side. It is a short and scenic walk through the historic area.
