Train
From Amsterdam Central Station, purchase a ticket to Alkmaar at the NS ticket counter or use the NS app. Board the train heading to Alkmaar; trains run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Upon arrival at Alkmaar Station, exit the station and follow the signs for the city center. Walk straight down the main street (Stationsweg), which will take you to the Waagplein. The Alkmaar Tours office is located directly at Waagplein, 1811 JP Alkmaar.

Bus
From Amsterdam, you can also take a bus to Alkmaar. Go to the Amsterdam Sloterdijk bus station. Look for buses heading to Alkmaar; these are operated by Connexxion. The bus ride takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. After arriving at the Alkmaar bus station, you can either walk or take a local bus to Waagplein. If walking, head east on Langestraat until you reach Waagplein.
