However, if you're feeling adventurous, you can start at Amsterdam Central Station and head north across the IJ river via the ferry (free). After disembarking, follow the signs toward Zaanse Schans, walking through the scenic paths and countryside. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water as it might take around 4-5 hours to reach your destination.
