Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the city center, start at Dam Square. From Dam Square, walk southeast towards Rokin. Continue walking along Rokin until you reach the intersection with Muntplein. Turn left onto Amstelstraat, and cross the Amstel River. After crossing, continue straight onto the Weesperstraat. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with Plantage Middenlaan. Turn right onto Plantage Middenlaan, and after a short walk, you will find Hortus Botanicus at number 2a on your left.

  • Tram

    From Dam Square, head to the nearest tram stop, 'Dam' (located on Damstraat). Take tram line 14 towards 'Gein'. After about 10 minutes, get off at the 'Artis' stop. From the tram stop, walk east on Plantage Kerklaan until you reach Plantage Middenlaan. Turn left, and you will see Hortus Botanicus at number 2a.

  • Bicycle

    You can rent a bicycle from any of the bike rental shops around the city. Start from the city center and head southeast towards the Amstel River. Follow the bike lanes along the river until you reach Plantage Middenlaan. Turn left onto Plantage Middenlaan, and continue straight until you arrive at Hortus Botanicus, which will be on your left at number 2a.

  • Bus

    From the central station, find the bus stop for bus line 22. Take the bus towards 'Zorgvlied'. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at 'Plantage Middenlaan'. Walk a short distance down Plantage Middenlaan, and you will see Hortus Botanicus at number 2a on your right.
