Amsterdam Maritime History Tour with Tastings and Museum Entry

A detailed orientation of the area while walking tour the Maritime Museum

I met my tour guide Kees at one of the oldest pub/restaurant in Amsterdam. I enjoyed traditional waffle cakes and a delicious drink from the Netherlands. The walking tour included a good amount of history of this area of Amsterdam and the large changes that occurred on the waterfront. If you want details about the waterfront areas going as you walk to the Maritime Museum then here you go. The tour included a ticket in to the Maritime museum for an audio self guided tour. Fun facts

Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise, Live Guide & City Highlights

Enjoyable cruise

Very friendly and personable crew and captain. Many stories of Amsterdam past and present, told in a really engaging way. We had booked the canal cruise on one of the few occasions that week whereby it actually rained so being undercover was actually a benefit. Many of the other (more expensive) tours were uncovered and sheltering under bridges and / or umbrellas! The rain did however obscure some of the views from the canal. Limited number of refreshments on the tour, so bring whatever you need along. The tour starts from the opposite side of the river to central Amsterdam and the station, so please leave a bit of time to actually get there. It's free and quick to cross the river but don't leave it late to arrive.
