Getting There

Walking
If you're starting from the Haarlem train station, exit the station and head towards the main street, Stationsweg. Walk straight down Stationsweg until you reach the crossing with the Zijlstraat. Turn left onto Zijlstraat and continue walking until you reach the intersection with the Grote Markt. Keep walking straight, and you will see the beautiful St. Bavokerk (Bavo Church) on your right. From there, head straight towards the main square, and you will find signs directing you to the bus station. Take bus line 73 or 74 towards The Hague. Get off at the bus stop 'Den Haag, Buitenhof'. From the bus stop, walk along Buitenhof street, and within a few minutes, you will reach the Prison Gate Museum located at Buitenhof 33.

Public Transport
From Haarlem, take the train from Haarlem Station to The Hague Central Station (Den Haag Centraal). The train ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at The Hague Central Station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal located just outside the station. Look for bus line 22, 26, or 28 which go towards 'Buitenhof'. Get off at the 'Buitenhof' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the Prison Gate Museum. Head down Buitenhof street, and you'll find the museum at number 33 on your right.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Haarlem. Start from the city center and head towards the Haarlemmerhout park. Cycle towards the Ripperdaweg and follow the signs to The Hague. The route is scenic and takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive in The Hague, follow signs to the center, and continue straight until you reach Buitenhof. The Prison Gate Museum is located at Buitenhof 33, just a short ride from the city center.
