Stadsbrouwerij De Pelgrim was founded in 1995 by Harry van de Wiel with the vision of reviving Rotterdam's brewing heritage. The brewery is architecturally designed in the style of the old Delfshaven town hall, featuring distinctive wood-and-copper brewing kettles that remain central to the production process. Today, Harry's son continues the family tradition, maintaining the brewery's commitment to craft beer production and hospitality. The establishment has become a cultural landmark in the Delfshaven neighborhood, attracting beer enthusiasts and curious travelers alike.

Brewing Experience & Tours

Visitors can experience the brewery through guided tours led by knowledgeable staff who share the history of Delfshaven, the Pilgrim Fathers, and the brewing process itself. Tours last approximately 30 to 40 minutes and include tastings of three different Pelgrim beers. The minimum group size is six people, with tours priced at €13.50 per person. After the tour, guests can continue socializing in the Proeflokaal (tasting room), Binnentuin (inner garden), or on the outdoor terrace.

Dining & Beverage Offerings

The restaurant menu centers on Dutch cuisine with an emphasis on beer-paired dishes. The establishment offers vegan options including bitterballen, lumpia, burgers, hummus, and grilled vegetable sandwiches, making it accessible to diverse dietary preferences.
