If you're driving from Assen, take the N34 highway towards Emmen. After approximately 30 kilometers, take the exit towards Giethoorn. Follow the signs for Giethoorn, which will lead you onto the N855. Continue on the N855 until you reach the village. Once in Giethoorn, you can park your car at designated parking areas near the village center.

To reach Giethoorn by public transportation, take a train from your location in Drenthe to Steenwijk station. Trains are available frequently from major towns such as Assen and Emmen. Once you arrive at Steenwijk, exit the station and head to the bus stop outside. Board the bus number 70 or 271 that is heading towards Giethoorn. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Giethoorn, Centrum' stop, which is close to the entrance of the village.
