Car

If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Emmen. Head southwest on the N34 highway. Take the exit toward Nieuw-Dordrecht. Continue on the N34 for approximately 10 km, and then take the exit for Nieuw-Dordrecht. Once you enter Nieuw-Dordrecht, follow the signs to Oosterbos. The national forest will be well-marked, and you can park in designated areas near the entrance.

Public Transportation

To reach Oosterbos using public transportation, start by taking a train to Emmen station. From Emmen station, transfer to bus line 22 towards Nieuw-Dordrecht. After a journey of about 20 minutes, disembark at the stop 'Nieuw-Dordrecht, Kerk.' From there, it is a 15-minute walk to the entrance of Oosterbos. Follow the signs towards the forest, and you will enjoy a scenic route through the village.

Walking

If you are already in Nieuw-Dordrecht, walking to Oosterbos is a pleasant option. Start from the main square and head north on the Hoofdstraat. Continue straight until you reach the edge of town, where you will see signs directing you to the entrance of Oosterbos. The walk is about 2 km and should take approximately 25 minutes, with beautiful views along the way.

Bicycle

For those who prefer cycling, rent a bike in Emmen and follow the same route as if you were driving. The N34 has dedicated bike lanes, making it safe and enjoyable.
