Exploring the Monument of Havik in Amersfoort

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the center of Utrecht, start at the Dom Tower. From the Dom Tower, head southeast toward the Nieuwegracht. Walk along the Nieuwegracht until you reach the intersection with the Wittevrouwensingel. Turn left onto Wittevrouwensingel and continue straight, crossing the water. After crossing, take the first right onto the Langegracht. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Biltstraat. Turn left and keep walking until you reach the intersection with the Marnixlaan. Finally, take a right onto the Marnixlaan and walk straight until you reach the train station. From there, take a train to Amersfoort. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes. Once in Amersfoort, exit the station and head southeast on the Stationsplein. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Langestraat. Turn right onto Langestraat and walk until you reach Havik 27.

• Public Transport

  From Utrecht Central Station, purchase a ticket to Amersfoort, which is a direct train route. Trains run frequently, approximately every 15 minutes. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Amersfoort Station, exit the station and head southeast on the Stationsplein. Continue straight onto the Langestraat. Follow Langestraat until you reach Havik 27, which will be on your left.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, Utrecht has a great bike-sharing system. Rent a bike from a local rental shop. From the center of Utrecht, head towards the Vredenburgplein and follow the signs to the bike path leading to Amersfoort. The route is well marked and takes you through beautiful scenery. It is approximately a 30-minute bike ride, so ensure you have a good map or GPS on your phone. Upon arriving in Amersfoort, navigate to Havik 27 by following the signs to the city center, where you will find the address located near the Langestraat.
