Walking
From the center of Haarlem, head south on the Grote Markt towards the St. Bavokerk (Bavo Cathedral). Once you reach the cathedral, turn right onto the Zijlstraat. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Kruisweg. Turn left onto the Kruisweg and walk until you see the Haarlem train station on your right. From the station, you can take a train to Amsterdam. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal Station, exit the station and head northwest towards the Damrak. Continue walking straight until you reach the junction with the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal. Turn right and walk until you reach the intersection with the Prinsengracht. Turn left onto Prinsengracht, and you will soon find yourself in the beautiful Jordaan district.
Public Transport (Train)
Start at the Haarlem train station. Purchase a ticket to Amsterdam Centraal from the ticket machines. Trains run frequently, so check the schedule for the next departure. Once on the train, enjoy the short journey of about 15-20 minutes to Amsterdam Centraal. Upon arrival, exit the station and head towards the main entrance. From there, walk straight down the Damrak towards the Dam Square. Once at Dam Square, take a left onto the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal and continue until you reach the Prinsengracht. Turn left onto Prinsengracht, and you will be in the heart of the Jordaan area.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, rent a bicycle in Haarlem. Start from the city center, heading south towards the Zijlstraat. Follow the Zijlstraat until you reach the railway bridge, then head onto the bike path that leads directly to Amsterdam. The ride is approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your pace. As you approach Amsterdam, follow the signs for the city center. Once in Amsterdam, navigate towards the Prinsengracht where you'll find the Jordaan area.
