Getting There

• Walking

  From Haarlem's main train station (Haarlem Centraal), exit the station and head towards the bus stop located directly outside. Take bus line 300 towards Amsterdam. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at Amsterdam Centraal Station. Once there, exit the bus and walk towards the main train station entrance. From the station, head east on Stationsplein towards the IJ river, then turn right onto Prins Hendrikkade. Continue walking for about 10 minutes until you reach the Kattenburgerplein. The National Maritime Museum will be on your right at Kattenburgerplein 1.

• Train

  At Haarlem Centraal station, purchase a ticket to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Board any train heading to Amsterdam; trains run frequently, approximately every 10-15 minutes. The train journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal Station, follow the directions given in the walking option from the station to the National Maritime Museum, which is around a 15-minute walk.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Haarlem. From the rental shop, cycle towards the city center and follow the signs to Amsterdam. The bike ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you reach Amsterdam, continue towards Kattenburgerplein by following the bike paths along the canals. The National Maritime Museum is located at Kattenburgerplein 1, which is easily accessible by bike.
