Train
From Haarlem, walk to Haarlem Station (approximately 15 minutes from the city center). Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Leiden. Board a train heading towards either The Hague or Rotterdam. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Get off at Leiden Centraal station.
Bus
From the city center of Haarlem, walk to the bus stop 'Haarlem, Raaks' (about a 10-minute walk). Take bus line 300 towards 'Leiden, Lammenschans'. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at 'Leiden, Naturalis' stop which is directly in front of the Naturalis Biodiversity Center.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike rental shops in Haarlem. Head east on the 'Zijlweg' road towards the N208 highway. Follow the N208 towards Leiden. The ride is approximately 12 kilometers and should take about 40-50 minutes. Once you reach Leiden, follow signs to the Naturalis Biodiversity Center located at Darwinweg 2.
Walking
While walking from Haarlem to Leiden is quite a long journey (approximately 12 kilometers), it is possible if you're up for the challenge. Start on the 'Zijlweg' and follow it east towards the N208 highway. Continue on the N208 into Leiden, passing through beautiful countryside. Once you reach Leiden, navigate to Darwinweg where the Naturalis Biodiversity Center is located.
