Walking
If you are already in Haarlem, begin your journey at the main train station, Haarlem Centraal. Exit the station and head southeast on Stationsplein towards the city center. Continue straight onto the large street called Kruisweg. Follow this road as it curves into Zijlweg. After about 10-15 minutes of walking, you will reach the city center with shops and cafes. From the city center, look for the bus stop labeled 'Haarlem, Centrum'. Take bus line 80 towards Amsterdam. After a 30-minute ride, get off at the 'Amsterdam, Centraal Station' stop. From there, you can either walk or take a tram to your final destination in Amsterdam, which is Overhoeks, located in Amsterdam-Noord. If you choose to walk, cross the IJ river using the ferry available at the station; it is free and operates frequently. Once across, follow the signs to Overhoeks, which should be a short walk from the ferry terminal.

From Haarlem, head to the Haarlem Centraal train station. Purchase a ticket to Amsterdam Centraal. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and make your way to the ferry terminal located directly in front of the station. Board the free ferry that goes to Amsterdam-Noord. After a short ride (approximately 5 minutes), disembark at the first stop. From the ferry terminal, follow the signs to Overhoeks. It is a short walk from there, and you will get to enjoy the views of the Amsterdam skyline along the way.
