Walking
If you are in the center of Haarlem, head towards the Grote Markt (the main square). From the Grote Markt, walk towards the St. Bavo Church, located at the west side of the square. Once you are in front of the church, turn right onto the Gierstraat. Continue straight until you reach the Spaarne river. The Spaarne will be directly in front of you, and you can enjoy a scenic walk along the riverbank.
Bicycling
Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops located around Haarlem. Start from the center, cycling towards the Spaarne river. Follow the signs to the Spaarne. The main routes will lead you through the beautiful streets of Haarlem, and you will arrive at the Spaarne in approximately 10-15 minutes depending on your speed.
Public Transport
If you are coming from the Haarlem train station, exit the station and head towards the bus stop located right outside. Take bus line 50 or 340 and get off at the stop 'Spaarne'. From the bus stop, you will see the Spaarne river just a short walk away. Follow the signs directing you towards the river.
