    Getting There

    Walking

    Start at the Haarlem train station (Haarlem Centraal). Exit the station and head southeast on Spoorwegstraat toward the city center. Continue straight onto the Zijlweg, which will take you into the heart of Haarlem. As you reach the city center, you’ll come to the Main Square (Grote Markt). From there, head north along the Groenmarkt and then turn left onto the Barteljorisstraat. Continue until you reach the Spaarne River. Cross over the bridge, and you’ll see the streets leading to Amsterdam. Follow the signs for the train station again, as you will travel to Amsterdam. Once you arrive in Amsterdam, exit the train station and head towards the main exit, where you will find the Central Station Square. From there, you can take a tram or walk. If you prefer walking, head southwest along the Damrak until you reach the Dam Square. Continue on the Kalverstraat street until you reach the Muntplein. From there, head towards Herengracht and follow the canal until you reach Herengracht 605, the Willet-Holthuysen Museum.

    From Haarlem train station (Haarlem Centraal), board a train heading to Amsterdam Central Station. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station, exit the station and head towards the main exit. From there, take tram line 4, 14, or 24 and ride it to the 'Muntplein' stop. Once you get off, walk towards the Herengracht canal. Turn left onto Herengracht and walk until you reach number 605, where the Willet-Holthuysen Museum is located. This method is convenient and allows you to see some of the city’s highlights along the way.
