Walking
Start from the city center of Haarlem at the Grote Markt. Head south on the Gedempte Oude Gracht towards the Zijlstraat. Continue straight until you reach the Zijlbrug (Zijl Bridge). Cross the bridge and continue along the canal. Follow the waterway to the north until you reach the train station, Haarlem Centraal. From there, take a train to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Upon arrival at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and head southwest towards the Damrak. Continue straight until you reach the Nieuwendijk. Turn left onto the Nieuwendijk and follow it until you reach the Halvemaansbrug.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the many bike rental shops near the city center of Haarlem, such as at the train station. Once you have a bicycle, head south on the Gedempte Oude Gracht and follow the bike paths towards the Zijlbrug. Cross the Zijlbrug and continue along the canal bike paths. Keep heading towards Amsterdam by following signs for the bike route to Amsterdam. The ride will take you through beautiful scenery until you reach the outskirts of Amsterdam. Once in Amsterdam, continue to follow the bike route signs to Halvemaansbrug.
Public Transport
From Haarlem, make your way to the Haarlem Centraal Station. Purchase a ticket to Amsterdam Centraal, which is a direct train route. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal Station, exit the station and walk southwest towards the Damrak. Take a left onto the Nieuwendijk and continue until you reach the Halvemaansbrug. The total journey by train is about 20 minutes, and the walk from the station to the bridge is approximately 10 minutes.
