If you are starting from Haarlem's central train station (Haarlem Centraal), exit the station and head south on the Stationsplein. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Zijlweg. Turn right onto Zijlweg and walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the large square known as the Grote Markt. Once you arrive at the Grote Markt, Hoofdwacht will be located at number 17 on your left side.

From the Teylers Museum, exit the museum and turn left on the Spaarne river. Walk along the river for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with the Zijlstraat. Turn right onto Zijlstraat and continue walking until you reach the Grote Markt. Hoofdwacht will be located at number 17 on the square.
