Walking
From the center of Haarlem, head south towards the main railway station (Haarlem Centraal). Once you reach the station, exit and turn right onto Stationsplein. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Nieuwe Gracht. Turn left onto Nieuwe Gracht and follow the canal path for approximately 1.5 kilometers. This will lead you to the main canal area of Amsterdam. Once you arrive in the area, look for signs pointing towards Oudezijds Voorburgwal, which is a short walk from the main canal.
Train
From Haarlem Centraal Station, purchase a ticket to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Trains run frequently, so you shouldn't have to wait long. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Upon arriving at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and proceed to the front where you will find the main street, Damrak. Walk straight down the Damrak until you reach the intersection with Warmoesstraat. Turn left onto Warmoesstraat, and then take the first right onto Oudezijds Voorburgwal.
Bus
Head to the Haarlem bus station located near the train station. Look for bus line 300 or 356 that goes directly to Amsterdam. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the next departure. Once you arrive in Amsterdam, get off at the stop ‘Dam’ or ‘Amsterdam Centraal’. From there, follow the same route as mentioned in the train guidance: walk down Damrak, turn left into Warmoesstraat, and then right onto Oudezijds Voorburgwal.
Use Oudezijds Voorburgwal as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
