Walking
From Haarlem's central train station (Haarlem Centraal), exit the station and head towards the city center. Walk straight along the Stationsplein until you reach the main road, Zijlweg. Turn right onto Zijlweg and continue walking until you reach the Grote Markt. This is the main square in Haarlem. From there, head towards the Bakenessergracht, a picturesque canal. Continue along the canal until you reach the junction with the Spaarne River. Cross the bridge and follow the riverbank south towards Amsterdam. After approximately 20 minutes of walking, you will reach Amsterdam-Centrum. Keep walking towards the Thorbeckeplein, which is located near the Amstel River. Look for the large square with the statue, and you will have arrived at Thorbeckeplein.

Public Transport
From Haarlem's central train station (Haarlem Centraal), take the train heading to Amsterdam Centraal. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal, follow the signs to the exit. Once outside, walk towards the Damrak, the main street leading into the city. Continue straight until you reach Dam Square. From Dam Square, head southeast towards the Amstel River. Walk along the river until you reach Thorbeckeplein, which is a lively square with restaurants and shops. It should take you about 15 minutes to walk from Dam Square to Thorbeckeplein.
