Getting There

• Train

  If you are in Amsterdam, head to Amsterdam Centraal Station. From there, catch a train heading towards Alkmaar. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Alkmaar Station, exit the station and walk towards the main road, which is Stationsweg. Turn left onto Stationsweg, then turn right on Geestersingel. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Oosterhout. Turn left onto Oosterhout, and then take a right onto Oudegracht. Wildemanshofje will be on your right at number 45.

• Bus

  From Amsterdam, you can take a bus from Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station to Alkmaar. Board Bus 250, which will take you directly to Alkmaar. After arriving at Alkmaar Bus Station, walk towards the station exit and head straight onto Kennemerstraatweg. Follow this road until you reach the intersection with Oosterhout, then take a left turn onto Oosterhout. Walk straight until you reach Oudegracht, then turn right. Wildemanshofje is located at number 45.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Amsterdam. Head northwest towards the North Sea Canal, following the bike paths. Take the route towards Zaanstad and then follow the signs for Alkmaar. The ride is approximately 40 kilometers and will take about 2 hours. Upon entering Alkmaar, follow the signs to the city center. When you reach Oudegracht, you will find Wildemanshofje at number 45.

• Walking

  While walking from Amsterdam to Alkmaar is quite a distance (about 40 km), if you are up for the challenge, you can start from the city center of Amsterdam. Head northwest through the parks and canals, following the signs towards Alkmaar. This route is scenic but will take approximately 8 hours. Once you reach Alkmaar, navigate to Oudegracht and find Wildemanshofje at number 45.
