Getting There

  • Train

    From Leiden Central Station, take a train towards Amsterdam Central. Trains run frequently, approximately every 15 minutes. Ensure to get off at Amsterdam Amstel station. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Amstel, follow the signs for tram connections.

  • Tram

    At Amsterdam Amstel station, transfer to Tram 12 or Tram 14. Board the tram heading towards 'Amsterdam, Westermarkt' for Tram 12 or 'Amsterdam, Slochterenweg' for Tram 14. Stay on the tram for about 15 minutes until you reach the 'Artis' stop. Get off here.

  • Walk

    After getting off the tram at the 'Artis' stop, walk towards the Plantage Kerklaan. You will see the entrance to ARTIS to your right. It’s just a short 5-minute walk from the tram stop, so follow the signs or the crowd heading towards the zoo.
