    Getting There

    Walking

    Start from the central train station, Leiden Centraal. Exit the station and head straight down Stationsweg. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Breestraat. Turn left onto Breestraat and follow it until you arrive at the Burcht van Leiden, a historic castle mound. From there, take a right onto Korte Mare, and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rijnsburgerweg. Turn left onto Rijnsburgerweg, and keep walking until you reach the large intersection with the Haarlemmerstraat. At this point, you can continue straight as it becomes Haarlemmerstraat and leads to the city center. Follow the signs to the main square, where you will find various shops and attractions.

    Cycling

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the many rental shops near Leiden Centraal. Once you have your bike, exit the station and head straight down Stationsweg. Continue to the Breestraat and take a left. Cycle along Breestraat until you reach the Burcht van Leiden. From there, take a right onto Korte Mare and cycle straight until you reach Rijnsburgerweg. Turn left and continue to Haarlemmerstraat. You can then cycle through the city center to explore shops and cafes, following the bike lanes marked throughout the area.
