Walking
From the center of Leiden, head north to the main train station, Leiden Centraal. Once you reach the station, take a train to Amsterdam Centraal. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and head west towards the city center. Follow the signs for 'Jordaan' or use a map to navigate. Walk along the main road, Damrak, until you reach Dam Square. From there, continue walking northwest, crossing the canals, and you will enter the Jordaan neighborhood, known for its picturesque streets and canals.
Biking
Rent a bike from one of the many bike rental shops in Leiden. Head towards the main road, N206, and follow the bike paths towards the A44 highway. Continue on the designated bike lanes until you reach the outskirts of Amsterdam. Once you approach the city, follow the bike lanes towards Amsterdam Centraal. Upon reaching the station, navigate to the city center by heading west along the main thoroughfare, Damrak, and then proceed to the Jordaan area.
Public Transport
To get to Jordaan from Leiden, take a bus or tram to Leiden Centraal and then board a train to Amsterdam Centraal. Once in Amsterdam, you can take tram line 13 or 17 from the Centraal station towards the direction of 'Zoutkeetsgracht'. Get off at the 'Westermarkt' stop and walk a few minutes to reach the heart of the Jordaan neighborhood. Alternatively, from Amsterdam Centraal, you can catch bus number 21 towards 'Zoutkeetsgracht' and disembark at the same stop.
